Understanding timing

An order has more than one clock.

Shipping speed is only one part of the journey. Ask what a quoted estimate includes so you can plan around the complete order.

Order processing

Review, availability checks, approvals, and preparation before an order is released. Processing begins after required payment, product information, approvals, and confirmations have been received. Missing details can extend the estimated shipment date.

Product lead time

The time associated with sourcing or preparing an item. Manufacturer production, keying, programming, and configuration may affect when it is ready to ship. Ask whether a supplied estimate includes these steps.

Transit after dispatch

Current standard checkout methods list estimated carrier transit of 3–5 business days for paid shipping and 5–8 business days for eligible free shipping to the contiguous United States and Washington, DC. Preparation and product lead time are additional. Freight, special handling, and other methods require confirmation.

Have a required installation date? Start there.

Share your required delivery date, quantities, exact product details, and destination before ordering. Availability and timing vary by item. Dates are estimates unless OpenAxis Supply expressly agrees to a guaranteed date in writing. Confirm the delivery estimate before scheduling an installation around it.

Check whether an estimate uses business days or calendar days, and what event starts the count. Do not assume that a lead-time estimate is an arrival date. The claim-reporting windows below specify the type of day that applies.

Dispatch estimates are item-specific. Confirm the exact SKU, configuration, quantity, and fulfillment availability. A carrier transit estimate is not a dispatch promise.

From order to arrival

What to expect along the way

1. Confirmation & review

We review the information needed to release your order. Check your product selection, quantities, delivery address, contact details, and any requested approvals. An order may be held if details are incomplete, conflicting, or need written confirmation.

2. Sourcing & preparation

Availability, configuration, keying, programming, or manufacturer processing may need to be confirmed. Supplier availability can change. If an item becomes unavailable or materially delayed, available options may include waiting, an approved substitute, an order adjustment, or canceling the affected item for a refund.

3. Dispatch & tracking

Items may ship from OpenAxis Supply, a distributor, a manufacturer, or another authorized fulfillment location. Tracking is provided when available. A label may appear before the carrier record updates, and separate shipments may have separate tracking details.

4. Delivery & inspection

Have someone ready to receive and inspect the shipment. Compare the contents with your order and packing information. Keep packaging and labels if anything is damaged, missing, or incorrect, and follow the reporting guidance below.

Ready to receive

A little preparation helps delivery go smoothly.

Parcel deliveries

Inspect promptly after delivery and compare the contents with your order. Report visible damage, missing items, or incorrect items within two business days after delivery.

  • Keep the product, manufacturer packaging, carton, labels, and packing materials.
  • Take clear photos and email returns@openaxissupply.com with the order details.
  • For a tracking problem, contact the carrier and email orders@openaxissupply.com with your order number.

Truck & LTL freight

Inspect before signing the delivery receipt. Note visible damage or shortages on the bill of lading. Refuse a badly damaged shipment and contact OpenAxis Supply promptly.

  • Signing without noting visible damage may limit the available carrier claim.
  • Report concealed shipping damage within five calendar days after delivery to returns@openaxissupply.com.
  • Keep the shipment and packaging available while the issue is reviewed.

Jobsites & delivery access

Provide a complete address, receiver name, telephone number, and access instructions. Tell us about residential, limited-access, or other special delivery needs during order review.

  • Confirm whether liftgate service or an appointment is needed.
  • Arrange safe access, unloading equipment, personnel, and any required permits unless written order terms state otherwise.
  • Additional handling needs may affect charges or the available delivery method.
